Senator Slams Constituents Who Criticized His Flip-Flop

Senator Slams Constituents Who Criticized His Flip-Flop

Democrats seem to forget that there are only 2 or 3 "Blue States". When viewed on a county-by-county basis the picture that emerges is much different. This means that when you ridicule "Red State" values, Christian family values, you may have your head handed to you, even in a "Blue State". Add to that simply lying to the voters about your political stance on up-or-down votes on judges, and I suspect Senator Salazar may find his reelection bid in 5+ years a bit more difficult than the last time.

I am sure glad the UN is alarmed over the burning of villages. They don't seem to be alarmed about the 180,000 dead, but burned villages, not that's something! the UN has lived it's life, it's time for it to go and our support to end.

'Minutemen' to push Congress

'Minutemen' to push Congress

Perhaps Washington is forgetting the premise on which the US was founded, WE, THE PEOPLE are the government, not the folks setting on their butts in DC. They are OUR employees, and we expect them to do their jobs. Protecting the security of our borders would seem to be one of the "biggies". If we have no borders, if friend and foe can cross at will, why have an immigration service? Why have a customs department? Why even have ports of entry? Just fling open our doors and allow ourselves to be mobbed. No, wait, that's right, we are the most evil country on the planet, no one would even come! How silly of me, of course we are safe!

Should be an interesting 6 months or so as more countries roll through there referendums on the EU Constitution.

The Dems next attack on "One Nation Under God".

Dean: "The issue is: Are we going to live in a theocracy where the highest powers tell us what to do? Or are we going to be allowed to consult our own high powers when we make very difficult decisions?"

Just what high power is Howard going to ask?? Of course moral issues are at stake with the Schiavo case. In fact, I was against keeping the feeding tube in - I believe she was dead, her body simply did not know it. But, does this one event mean Howard is promoting the idea that Senate leaders should not, in any way, take their moral and religious beliefs into account? What should guide a persons decisions? What higher power is Howard going to ask? The courts?

Please Howard, make this an issue. It shows just how disconnected the Democrats have become from America and how clueless they remain!

This is the culture of Islam being taught to young kids in Australia. Are women really ready to go back to the 8th century? Lead the Way - Senate Republicans may not understand the true stakes in the coming judicial showdown.

The filibuster has become the weapon of choice in dealing with President Bush's judicial nominees to the appeals court. The first time in history this approach has been used. And, it seems this is simply the warmup round. The real target will be his nominations for the Supreme Court. It is here that liberals can enact those policies that the majority of Americans will not enact at the ballot box. It is time for the Republicans to take off the gloves and get the President's nominees voted on. Time is short, get your job done.

The Calm Before the Storm?

The Calm Before the Storm?

9/11 turned a corner for the whole world, not just the US. While the attack occurred on US soil, the attack of a GLOBAL trade center should have sent the message that this was a threat to the world, to the western ideals that drive much of the international trade, to the ideas of freedom and Democracy.

This is a generational war. Our children will have to fight these animals. The fact we have not been attacked on our soil since 9/11 is do to our increased awareness, increased security precautions and simple luck. It will not hold forever. Someone will miss something sometime. That is why it is imperative that in the Mideast, where much of this is spawned, we do everything we can to bring freedom and prosperity, because that is the key to reducing terrorism. And, we must continue to take the fight to these animals and the governments that harbor and support them.

Iran comes to mind. It should be obvious to all world governments why it is not acceptable for Iran to acquire a nuclear weapon. I think many just assume that they are safe since the obvious target would be the US. But, recent developments if Islamic expansion in Europe should be enough to convince many of the European governments that they are as much at risk as is the US. As I said earlier, this is a global threat that must be met firmly, or else.

John Stossel: The climate scare

Actually, during the past 30 years, rather than rapidly rising, temperatures have been largely stable. But, be that as it may, there have obviously been large swings in global temperatures over the world's history. There is evidence of many Ice Ages (this study shows 11). So, if the earth can cool, why can't it warm up. And, these cycles were completed well before human intervention.

It seems that we just have one more thing to be afraid of.

From Breadbasket to Dustbowl

I read story after story after story of American atrocities across the globe. These stories appear worldwide - Britain, Germany, France, China, Australia, South America, Scandinavia - anywhere you find newspapers, you find stories of how bad America is for the world.

Yet, here you find a leader truly destroying his country and its people and you hear - - - nothing. I simply can not wrap my head around the fact that America is so hated - for freeing over 50 million people and dictators are loved and supported while they slaughter and kill their own people.

As an active Scouter, I am disgusted by the unending attack on the Boy Scouts by the ACLU. Their misrepresentation of the concept of separation of church and state has allowed them to expand their influence to the point of terrorizing any organization that dares to confront them. I am proud of the Legion for its stance and support them whole heartedly! A Scout is: Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean and reverent. It's a shame the ACLU finds these character points so distasteful they are willing to destroy an organization that promotes them.

And Dhimmitude For All by Alyssa A. Lappen

While the West continues to define "radical" Islam and "moderate" Islam, this disturbing review indicated that Islam has a long history of violence and intolerance with unbelievers. I would feel much more comfortable if more of those who follow "moderate" Islam would be speaking out publicly about tolerance and acceptance of other belief systems - yet they are silent. And, those few who are brave enough to speak out find themselves the target of fatwa’s demanding their death. Unless there is some sort of reformation within Islam, I see little way to avoid a direct confrontation with Islam itself.

My Party Is Leaving the Faithful Behind

Religion is one small part of why the Democrats are in such disarray. Their primary focal point this past election was simply "I hate Bush". In the next election, there will be no single person to hate, but an entire party. That will be a harder sell. This will force them to actually construct a platform with real ideas. If they fail to either construct the platform or to assemble a reasonable list of ideas to more the country is a solid direction, they will, once again, be pounded into the ground. The 2006 election cycle should give us a pretty good window into the 2008 election. Honestly, I do not think they have learned anything, but time will tell.

Evidence, Evidence, and More Evidence

Evidence, Evidence, and More Evidence - lowering taxes really does stimulate the economy.

I find the tax debate boring and endless. Let me see, you take an entity - the US Government - that produces NOTHING, creates NOTHING, manufacturers NOTHING, sells NOTHING and you give IT large amounts of money (our tax dollars) rather than giving it to entities (companies, marketing firms, inventors) through the investment of taxholders that retain more of what they earn that acturally do create, produce and sell products and that is supposed to grow the economy??? Really??? Are the pro-tax supporters even using one ounce of common sense?? Nope!

Is it any wonder terrorism advanced significantly under the Clinton administration with staffers like Berger "protecting" America???

These two axis members just keep simmering away. Obviously a decade of appeasment is contributing little good to the issue. Yet, somehow, I doubt the global community will be willing to confront these two threats.

Ziegler 'wrong' on Iraq hunger - The Washington Times: World - April 04, 2005

This type of report from a U.N. representative, after the Volker reports shows what a complete tragedy the Oil for Food program was, is typical of the U.N.'s "anyone but us" blame game. The reality is that the U.N., through its weak-kneed approach to Saddam is directly responsible for hundreds or thousands of deaths in Iraq and the poor health of the entire country, especially the children, prior to the invasion of Iraq.

Not to mention current events in Sudan, Africa as a whole as well as a host of countries where the people are struggling for survival with little or no help from the vast majority of U.N. member states.

Border-vigil volunteers big in spirit, not number - The Washington Times: Nation/Politics - April 03, 2005 (Hat Tip: LGF)

Imagine that, the Mexican government protesting that our citizens are defending our boarder against illegal immigrants, not legal, not law abiding, not those using our country's boarder crossings, but those seeking to enter our country illegaly. So, how does Mexico treat illegal immigrants?? Maybe we should take a lesson from them??

The wolf is certainly at the door in Paris. I wonder if the French will act in time or curb this danger. Actually, I believe I know the answer, it will be the same as it was in WWI and WWII.

Veiled Threat

TCS: Tech Central Station - Veiled Threat

You wonder, as citizens of the EU look down their noses at Americans, if they are paying any attention to the state of their own internal affairs. Does the average EU citizen condone the Islamist's treatment of women, or are they simply afraid to face the danger looking them in the face?

OFFICE WORK

I hate office work. I will do almost anything to avoid it. Unfortunately, my accountant suffered a rather severe auto accident and will probably no longer be available to me. I was a part time client and her real job as an accountant for a venture capital firm is becoming much busier and probably quite a bit more exciting. And she will have a fair amount of recovery time. So, today I am doing my accounting.

I am not sure what I dislike about it: paying bills (never seems like enough money in the old checking account), posting invoices (never seem to take in enough money) or just sitting on my butt banging away at the accounting software. Heavy sigh!

Anyway, have done all the damage on the books I can do today, so time to go play!

Maybe they're nuts but Minutemen have been effective

A basic responsibility of a citizen is to protect the nation. At times, I think our government forgets their job and need a reminder. Unless the government begins to take their job seriously regarding boder control, we can expect to see more of these types of actions being taken by the citizens of this country.

"Hell, No"--He's Not Exonerated

Why on earth would we continue to freely give this organization our blood and treasure without a full, open and continuous acounting of all financial transactions as well as an understanding that its troops and agency officials will treat their charges with basic human respect and dignity. They are accountable to NO ONE! More and more it takes on the posture of the supreme world government all the while plundering the people they are sent to aid. It is either time for a massive overhaul and a conversion to an open entity or it is time to withdraw our support.

I see stories like this and it breaks my heart. The shooter's mom knew he needed medication for his mental stability, that he was drinking and smoking pot. The victim's mom had the shooter IN HER HOME drinking, playing with a gun and threatening to kill her daughter. Hello?? Anyone?? Hello??

Oil prices keep barreling upward - The Washington Times: Business - April 02, 2005

This is another story that always surprises me too. Given that we have had a national phobia about energy development, why should it surprise anyone that the price for a resource that is presented as becoming scarce would increase? What would drive the price of crude down would be President Bush's announcement that we are beginning a "Manhattan Project" for energy independence in the US with the goal of being self sufficient within the next 25 years. A goal both doabe and worthy.

More Americans oppose gay 'marriage,' poll finds - The Washington Times: Nation/Politics - April 02, 2005

More Americans oppose gay 'marriage,' poll finds - The Washington Times: Nation/Politics - April 02, 2005

Why is it that in a nation founded on Christian beliefs, and where over 80% of the people are Christian, the fact that the majority of the population oppose gay marriage in "news worthy"?? Yet, time after time this same story is written from a "I can't believe this, but it seems to be true" view point. You would think the liberals would get it eventually.

This issue was one of the major reason for Bush's re-election, particularity in light of the arrogant finding of the Massechuets Supreme Court and their demand for the state legislators to pass laws supporting gay marriage. Both the libs and the judiciary understimate the resistance to gay marriage in this country to their peril.

'Blog Swarm' Stings the FEC (04/02/2005)

'Blog Swarm' Stings the FEC (04/02/2005)

The true purpose of McCain-Fiengold was, IMNSHO, to insure incumbants had the upper-hand during the election cycle. If the ability to raise funds by the competitor were limited, the incumbent naturally had the advantage.

After the obvious power of blogs was displayed during the 2004 election, it had become apparent that blogs will have to be limited if incumbents are to maintain their advantage. Bloggers are keeping a watchful eye on the FEC developments, as should all citizens who are interested it free speech.

"Instead of defending human rights, the commission has become an Abusers' Defense Society," Kenneth Roth, executive director of Human Rights Watch, said in an interview with The Washington Times.
He said Mr. Annan "is right to conclude that a new council, composed of governments that are genuinely committed to human rights, is the only way to end the travesty."

----------------------------------

Really, only governments genuinely committed to human rights?? Honestly, on the human rights panel????? Why the very thought!!

FrontPage magazine.com :: Symposium: Nuclear Outlaws by Jamie Glazov

FrontPage magazine.com :: Symposium: Nuclear Outlaws by Jamie Glazov

One of the lines we heard immediately following 9/11 was that the US government "failed to connect the dots". Well, the media, experienced foreign relation folks, the military and our intelligence community are painting a heavy black line between the dots of the nuclear threat posed to the world by North Korea and Iran.

This panel discussion should be enough to raise the hair on the back of even the most doubting neck.

The Humane Holocaust

The Humane Holocaust By George Neumayr

As I said yesterday, the views are wide concerning the death of Terri Schiavo. George Neumayr is probably as good a representation for the murder point of view as I have seen.

The tragedy of this whole case is beyond comprehension.

Immigration built this country - legal immigration. The process of adding any kind of legitimacy to people violating our borders and our laws sends the wrong message to the world and endangers our security.

A huge burden is being placed on the residents of Mexican border states. The results range from increased crime to the closing of hospitals due to lost revenue treating illegal immigrants.

Michelle Malkin is probably the formost blogger on immigration issues. She has fired up a blog dedicated to the issue of immigration: The Immigration Blog. It is well worth your time to visit and educate yourself on this pressing issue.

I am certainly in favor of brining in new people to our country through immigration. But, I expect them to melt into the pot, not create their own pot, I expect them to come legaly and obey our laws and I expect loyalty to their country of CHOICE rather than their country of birth.

Berger Will Plead Guilty To Taking Classified Paper (washingtonpost.com)

Berger Will Plead Guilty To Taking Classified Paper (washingtonpost.com)

Long ago and far away, I once maintained a security clearance, Top Secret at that. The list of "dos and don'ts" is long, very clear and drummed into the brains of each clearance holder. Sandy Berger knew, without any doubt, that as he stuffed classified material down his undies and in his socks he was committing a felony that would earn him a sizable fine and jail time. Trust me, had I taken documents home, I would still be living off "government assistance".

His punishment - $10,000 fine and 3 year suspension of his clearance. This sends so many wrong messages, I wouldn't even know where to start. It is obvious that the security of our country still takes a back seat to politics.

TNR - talking like THIS about President Bush???

"And he has accomplished this genuinely momentous transformation in ways that virtually the entire foreign affairs clerisy--the cold-blooded Brent Scowcroft realist Republicans and almost all the Democrats--never thought possible. Or, perhaps, in ways some of them thought positively undesirable. Bush, it now seems safe to say, is one of the great surprises in modern U.S. history. "
