The Calm Before the Storm?

The Calm Before the Storm?

9/11 turned a corner for the whole world, not just the US. While the attack occurred on US soil, the attack of a GLOBAL trade center should have sent the message that this was a threat to the world, to the western ideals that drive much of the international trade, to the ideas of freedom and Democracy.

This is a generational war. Our children will have to fight these animals. The fact we have not been attacked on our soil since 9/11 is do to our increased awareness, increased security precautions and simple luck. It will not hold forever. Someone will miss something sometime. That is why it is imperative that in the Mideast, where much of this is spawned, we do everything we can to bring freedom and prosperity, because that is the key to reducing terrorism. And, we must continue to take the fight to these animals and the governments that harbor and support them.

Iran comes to mind. It should be obvious to all world governments why it is not acceptable for Iran to acquire a nuclear weapon. I think many just assume that they are safe since the obvious target would be the US. But, recent developments if Islamic expansion in Europe should be enough to convince many of the European governments that they are as much at risk as is the US. As I said earlier, this is a global threat that must be met firmly, or else.
