Memorial Day 2008

Today’s Memorial Day. That day when we take the time to remember all those who have fallen 1memdaya.jpgin defense of the dream that is America. From the first five - Samuel Gray, Samuel Maverick, James Caldwell, Crispus Attucks and Patrick Carr who died March 5th, 1770 at a Boston warehouse to Howard A. Jones Jr., 35, Army Private 1st Class, who died May 18, 2008 from Chicago, Illinois. They heard the call to greater service to their country – and they answered.

Millions of Americans have served, hundreds of thousands have died. Today, as we honor them with parades, cemetery services, memorial services, tears and hugs – we remember their sacrifice and thank them for the freedoms they have given us.
