Today’s Memorial Day. That day when we take the time to remember all those who have fallen in defense of the dream that is America. From the first five - Samuel Gray, Samuel Maverick, James Caldwell, Crispus Attucks and Patrick Carr who died March 5th, 1770 at a Boston warehouse to Howard A. Jones Jr., 35, Army Private 1st Class, who died May 18, 2008 from Chicago, Illinois. They heard the call to greater service to their country – and they answered.
Millions of Americans have served, hundreds of thousands have died. Today, as we honor them with parades, cemetery services, memorial services, tears and hugs – we remember their sacrifice and thank them for the freedoms they have given us.
