Yes indeedie!  The Big "O"'s outreach to Iran seems to be going quite well.  The whole "without preconditions" seems especially successful.

Ahmadinejad Demands U.S. Apology For 'Crimes' Committed Against Iran

US President Barack Obama's offer to talk to Iran shows that America's policy of "domination" has failed, the government spokesman said on Saturday.

"This request means Western ideology has become passive, that capitalist thought and the system of domination have failed," Gholam Hossein Elham was quoted as saying by the Mehr news agency.

"Negotiation is secondary, the main issue is that there is no way but for (the United States) to change," he added.

After nearly three decades of severed ties, Obama said shortly after taking office this month that he is willing to extend a diplomatic hand to Tehran if the Islamic republic is ready to "unclench its fist".

In response, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad launched a fresh tirade against the United States, demanding an apology for its "crimes" against Iran and saying he expected "deep and fundamental" change from Obama.

Under Tight Security, Voting Seems Calm in Iraq - NYTimes.com

I wonder why the Democrat leadership isn't shouting this tremendous success from the steps of the capitol??  Isn't the blood of American soldiers and Iraqi alike worth a celebration of victory?  This lack of respect for what we and a country has accomplished makes me ashamed of our small minded citizens.

Good job troops!

NEW GROWTH Marta Ortega de Wing once raised pigs in Chilibre, Panama, on land now reverting to nature, a trend dimming the view of primeval forests as sacred.

CHILIBRE, Panama — The land where Marta Ortega de Wing raised hundreds of pigs until 10 years ago is being overtaken by galloping jungle — palms, lizards and ants.

Jungle is developing again on old holdings around Chilibre.

Instead of farming, she now shops at the supermarket and her grown children and grandchildren live in places like Panama City and New York.

Here, and in other tropical countries around the world, small holdings like Ms. Ortega de Wing’s — and much larger swaths of farmland — are reverting to nature, as people abandon their land and move to the cities in search of better livings.

CHANGE FOR THE WORSE

The more the stimulus bill is reviewed, the worse it gets.

By CHARLES HURT - INSIDE WASHINGTON

January 30, 2009 --

WASHINGTON - Buried deep inside the massive spending orgy that Democrats jammed through the House this week lie five words that could drastically undo two decades of welfare reforms.

The very heart of the widely applauded Welfare Reform Act of 1996 is a cap on the amount of federal cash that can be sent to states each year for welfare payments.

But, thanks to the simple phrase slipped into the legislation, the new "stimulus" bill abolishes the limits on the amount of federal money for the so-called Emergency Fund, which ships welfare cash to states.

The question of what to do with those prisoners at Guantanamo Bay came up again this morning. The Obama administration has asked our European allies to take some of them. EU anti-terrorism chief Gilles de Kerchove says it will take some time for the Europeans to decide how to respond:

My Bipartisan Stimulus

Let's cut taxes, as I want, and spend more, as Obama would like.

By RUSH LIMBAUGH

There's a serious debate in this country as to how best to end the recession. The average recession will last five to 11 months; the average recovery will last six years. Recessions will end on their own if they're left alone. What can make the recession worse is the wrong kind of government intervention.

As the mist begins to clear:

A 40-Year Wish List

You won't believe what's in that stimulus bill.

"Never let a serious crisis go to waste. What I mean by that is it's an opportunity to do things you couldn't do before."

So said White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel in November, and Democrats in Congress are certainly taking his advice to heart. The 647-page, $825 billion House legislation is being sold as an economic "stimulus," but now that Democrats have finally released the details we understand Rahm's point much better. This is a political wonder that manages to spend money on just about every pent-up Democratic proposal of the last 40 years.

Obama to Force HIS Moral Standards on YOU

Just a reminder that Barack Obama still has the inaptly named Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) on his plate. During the campaign Obama promised to work on the act as one of his first efforts as president. For those unaware, this law would take away the rights of parents to be notified when their children are undergoing abortions, will cancel state laws against partial birth abortion and nationalize rules governing abortion. It will force taxpayer funding for abortion nationwide and force all hospitals and healthcare facilities run by religious organizations to act against their religious principles by forcing them to become abortion mills.

Leon Panetta will appear next week before the Senate Intelligence Committee for his confirmation hearings to become director of the Central Intelligence Agency. His testimony will be the first opportunity for senators to ask tough questions about President Obama's decisions last week to begin rolling back the Bush administration's counterterrorism policies, including dismantling the CIA program to detain and question senior terrorist leaders captured in the war on terror.

Al-Qaeda cell killed by Black Death 'was developing biological weapons' - Telegraph

If one of their base commanders is captured, if one of their researchers is captured, and we can not use enhanced interrogation techniques to gain information, will we readily accept the deaths caused by plague released in a major US city?  Really??

Al-Qaeda cell killed by Black Death 'was developing biological weapons'

An al-Qaeda cell killed by the Black Death may have been developing biological weapons when it was infected, it has been reported.

Last Updated: 6:10PM GMT 20 Jan 2009

The group of 40 terrorists were reported to have been killed by the plague at a training camp in Algeria earlier this month.

It was initially believed that they could have caught the disease through fleas on rats attracted by poor living conditions in their forest hideout.

But there are now claims the cell was developing the disease as a weapon to use against western cities.

Small Business to Get Short Shrift from Obama Administration

Entrepreneurs will face a slew of new taxes, a stifling regulatory environment, and politicians who bail out the well-connected.

January 24, 2009 - by Tristan Yates

As the Ford Motor Company prepares to cash its first multi-billion dollar corporate welfare check and hand part of it over to the union, it’s easy to forget that almost exactly a century ago, this multi-billion dollar behemoth with 240,000 employees was just another young small business with big dreams about to launch its next product.

While many small businesses fail, including Henry Ford’s first two attempts, a precious few survive, thrive, and then change the world, creating hundreds of thousands of jobs in the process. Just about all of the great American companies were once mere dreams in the mind of an entrepreneur. Microsoft, Apple, Intel, McDonald’s, and WalMart are but a few examples.

Barack Obama inauguration: this Emperor has no clothes, it will all end in tears :: Gerald Warner

This will end in tears. The Obama hysteria is not merely embarrassing to witness, it is itself contributory to the scale of the disaster that is coming. What we are experiencing, in the deepening days of a global depression, is the desperate suspension of disbelief by people of intelligence - la trahison des clercs - in a pathetic effort to hypnotise themselves into the delusion that it will be all right on the night. It will not be all right.

President Obama listened to Republican gripes about his stimulus package during a meeting with congressional leaders Friday morning - but he also left no doubt about who's in charge of these negotiations. "I won," Obama noted matter-of-factly, according to sources familiar with the conversation.

The desecration of the US flag with the face of "The One", imagine if this were Bush.  This is a disturbing path with generations of tradition being swept aside for an inexperienced man who has accomplished virtually nothing in his life - yet he is President.  My disbelief continues.
