What it will take to end war - The Boston Globe

What it will take to end war - The Boston Globe

7:25AM and already my head is ready to explode!! THIS TIME, CAN WE ACCEPT DEFEAT??? THIS TIME, CAN WE ACCEPT DEFEAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Has James Carroll lost his fricking mind???

Can we admit that the loss of honor will not come with how the war ends, because we lost our honor when we began it? This time, can we accept defeat?

This article explains the reason Democrats can not be allowed to take back control of our national security. They have absolutly no concept of the battle we are in, none what so ever.

Just what would a Democratic Congress mean?

Just what would a Democratic Congress Mean??

Voters seemingly poised to hand control of the House of Representatives and perhaps the Senate to Democrats should be thinking hard about the consequences on an array of defining issues. The most reliable guide to those consequences is not what Democrats are saying on the campaign stump – or mostly not saying, witness the suddenly missing Nancy Pelosi – but how they have actually voted in Congress again and again on core issues.

The Only Issue This Election Day

The Only Issue This Election Day - The Ornery American

There is only one issue in this election that will matter five or ten years from now, and that's the War on Terror.

And the success of the War on Terror now teeters on the fulcrum of this election.

If control of the House passes into Democratic hands, there are enough withdraw-on-a-timetable Democrats in positions of prominence that it will not only seem to be a victory for our enemies, it will be one.

One of the clearest position articles I have read defining what is at stake in this election.

“There has never been an American army as violent and murderous as the one in Iraq”

“There has never been an American army as violent and murderous as the one in Iraq” By Martin Lukacs The McGill Daily

If Americans knew the full extent of U.S. criminal conduct, they would receive returning Iraqi veterans as they did Vietnam veterans, Hersh said.
"“In Vietnam, our soldiers came back and they were reviled as baby killers, in shame and humiliation,"” he said. "“It isn't happening now, but I will tell you -– there has never been an [American] army as violent and murderous as our army has been in Iraq."”

And so it begins formally, the tearing down of the US military. The circle for the press is complete, from Vietnam to Iraq. So predictable and so sad.

Test Post

It's obviously been awhile since I have posted. Usual stuff, an insanely busy summer, big changed at my company, my son's senior year in high school and all the attentive football games. But, elections around the corner and the world still as insane as ever - time to get back at it.

I'm Back!!

Islam, Terror and the Second Nuclear Age - New York Times

I find it strange that, even when the liberal NY Times organization can see the threat to civilization from the Islamofacists, the Democrats choose to ignore it.

Bush defines intercepts as 'limited'

Bush defines intercepts as 'limited'

It seems that perhaps the Democrat's and NY Times strategy of leaking the NSA story so early is not going as planned. Slowly but surly, the word is getting out about the purpose and content of the eavesdropping program. This is good news for the President. Americans defend their liberties, but expect to be kept safe from these dangerous threats.

President Bush yesterday defined as "limited" a once-secret program to intercept al Qaeda-linked calls to and from the United States, saying, "This is a limited program designed to prevent attacks on the United States of America, and I repeat -- limited," Mr. Bush told reporters after visiting wounded troops at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio.
"It seems logical to me that if we know there's a phone number associated with al Qaeda or an al Qaeda affiliate, and they're making phone calls, it makes sense to find out why," he said.

I hope he keeps hammering on this subject.
